| Dwelling Fire - 876 Strasburg Rd |
| Mon, Jul 12th, 2010 5:15:00 pm -
As some strong thunderstorms were rolling through the county Monday evening, station 4-5 was dispatched at 17:15pm to 876 Strasburg Rd for a dwelling fire. Additional received via LCWC was "lightning had struck the home, w/ smoke coming from the corner of the house"
Chief 5-1 (King) was the first to arrive on scene and reported smoke showing in the area. Chief 4-2-3 (Beiler) was on scene shortly after and reported fire showing from the A/B side of the home with a possible propane leak. Once Deputy 4-5 was on scene he assumed command.
E4-5-2 responded with 7 and was instructed to lay a line (5') up the steep drive-way to the residents home. Truck 4-2 was the first unit in followed by Engine 2. Crews from Truck 4-2 began an interior attack in the basement area and pulled a hand-line from their unit. Tanker 5-1 supplied Engine 4-5-2, however only a small amount of water was needed. The fire was quickly knocked down and PPV fans were used to clear the home of residual smoke. Also the ruptured propane line was shut off and quickly contained.
This was a great stop by all involved also thanks to Tanker 4-4 for standing-by in our station!
KFC units were returned & available at 18:16pm.
